Kevin and I went to Assisi one day while Stacey worked in Foligno. If Stacey and I ever run away, you could probably find us in Assisi. This is a view from just walking into town, looking to your left down into the valley. They call this valley "The Vail." In the valley, they grow wheat, corn, and giant sunflowers. The olive trees, and grapes are mainly grown up the sides of the valley as high as they can get them to grow. Kevin and I walked the town, and visited the two main churches. There are several. The biggest church is St. Francis's Basilica. We later drove up the mountain to visit the tiny church built in the spot where St. Francis use to go to pray. I posted those pictures. I will post the pictures the charming town of Assisi, the church, and the valley below later. But for now, I must go.................it is daylight, and there is far to much to see and do!
