We made it to the Louve Museum on Saturday. We could have spent hours but we didn't have that much time. We saw what we wanted to. The Mona Lisa, the Venus Di Milo, and the Winged statue that I still don't know what that is all about. The crown below was worn by Josephine. That would be Nepolian's Josephine. I'm not sure how to spell her name, but you know who I'm talking about.
King Louis XIII crown jewels, the only crown left.
Fancy ceilings were everywhere. I might add, that all the pictures in any of these famous paintings in churches, museums, etc. are showing things that took place in history or in the bible, or in a myth. It is fun to walk around and recognize what is going on.
Have you ever wondered what the back of Venus Di Milo looked liked? I also learned that the reason she is call that is because she was found on the island of Milo. I know her better as Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess. Rome renamed the main Gods when they ruled the world at one time. Just think, this famous statue could be called Aphrodite di Milo!!!
One of the paintings on one of the ceilings. Kevin noticed what it was about. Notice the floorplan in the drawing? It is the floor plan for St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. This painting was showing when the plans where presented to the Pope. Good Job Kev!
The Louve taken from inside looking out a window. If you saw the movie the DaVince Code, then you might remember Tom Hanks in his scenes that took place here.
Real Gladiator helments.
Real classey Kevin.
We thought at first this was Notre Dame, but nope, just another beautiful church.
Not a great picture, but this is a little pizza place we ate lunch at and this guy was right next to our table. He was making Kevin's pizza. Notice the brick oven behind him?
Can you see Stacey sitting just inside? We had a great lunch.

Here we are at Notre Dame.......................IT........WAS.......................... AMAZING!!

They lowered a light fixture to be worked on. Look at the size of it!!
There are beggers everywhere in Rome and Paris. This guy had a very clever idea. He sat across the street and let his dog do all the work.
Now these are REAL Gargoyalls!!!!!

We walked back after dinner for another looksy.

The Eiffel Tower twinkled every hour on the hour. It was worth going back at 1:00 A.M. in the morning for more pictures.

Notice the tiny people, and they were not even half way up!

Can you see these crazy people walking up??!!
Views halfway up.
From the top. The Arch De Triumph in the middle of the picture.
Then we zoomed in.
Stacey pretending to throw Kev from the top of the Eiffel Tower!
We traded taking pictures with another couple. This is the first picture with all three of us in it at the same time.

The famous Champs Elysees!! They have shopping down each side.
This was just one of the shops. Louis Vitton....five stories high, with five gaurds at the front door!
Come on Stacey, let's go SHOPPING!!! ..........................We only window shopped. I was happy to do just that!

It was Independence Day in France the night we arrived. We threw our suitcases into the hotel room and beat it down to the Eiffel Tower. There were MILLIONS of people there and we could not get directly in front of the tower. We did see a fantastic show. Someone told Kevin it is called the biggest fireworks show in Europe!
